Define Staff Attendance preferences

Define staff attendance preferences for your district, intermediate organizationClosed (optional), and then each school. You determine the codes you want to appear on each input page and basic attendance settings, such as if you take attendance on Saturdays.

To define staff attendance preferences:

  1. Do one of the following:
    • For a district: Log on to the District view. Click the District tab, and on the Setup side-tab, click Preferences.
    • For an intermediate organization: Log on to the Intermediate Organization view. Click the associated tab, and on the Setup side-tab, click Preferences.
    • For a school: Log on to the School view. Click the School tab, and on the Setup side-tab, click Preferences.
  1. Click the Category drop-down and select Staff Attendance. The staff attendance preferences page appears. 
  1. Use the following table to select general staff attendance preferences for your district, intermediate organization, or school:

    General

    Saturday attendance

    Select this checkbox if your district, intermediate organization, or school enters staff attendance on Saturdays.

    Sunday attendance

    Select this checkbox if your district, intermediate organization, or school enters staff attendance on Sundays.

    Accrual cutover date

    Type the date from which you want to compile staff accruals. For example, if all staff members have accrued time since the first day you used Aspen, type that date. From the date you type forward, the system tracks staff accruals, such as vacation, sick, and personal time.

    Input Buttons

    Number of buttons

    Type the number of code buttons you want to appear on the Staff Input page.

    Code/

    Pop-up

    Click the Code drop-down to select a code for each button.

    For each code, do one of the following:

    • Select the Pop-up checkbox if you want users to enter detailed information on a new pop-up page after they click that code.
    • Deselect this checkbox, and users simply click the appropriate code for each staff member.
  1. Click Save.
