Assign several users to roles at one time

After you define the details of a role, you can assign several users to the role at one time. This process determines the level of access users have to Aspen.

To assign several users to roles:

  1. Log on to the District or Intermediate Organization view.
  2. Click the Admin tab.
  3. Click the Security side-tab. The list of roles appears.
  4. Select the checkbox next to the role you want to assign users to.
  5. Note: Be sure to assign all staff members to the Staff role, giving them access to the Staff view, in which they can manage their professional development and personal information. Then, you also need to assign teachers to the Instructor role to provide access to the gradebookClosed features of the Staff view.

  1. On the Roles side-tab, click Users. Any users currently assigned to this role appear.
  2. On the Options menu, click Add. A pop-up displays a list of users.
  3. Select the users you want to assign to this role, and click OK. The users you select now have the privileges assigned to that role.
