Import a bundle

Tool bundles can contain reports, proceduresClosed, exports, imports, analytics, or at-risk definitions. A bundle is a zip file containing the tool components (Java source, input definitions, XML definitions, format definitions) and main XML document that describes the tool name, ID, navigation, and other components.

To use the tool enclosed in the bundle, you must import it into Aspen.

To import a bundle into Aspen:

  1. Log on to the District view.
  2. Click the Tools tab.
  3. Click the Reports, Procedures, Exports, Imports, Analytic Definitions or At Risk side-tab.
  4. From the Options menu, click Import Bundle. The Bundle Import pop-up appears:
  1. At the Bundle location field, click Browse to find the bundle; and then click Open.
  2. Select the Update existing checkbox if the tool in the bundle already exists in Aspen and you would like it updated with the new components.
  3. To replace any customizations made to a tool, select the appropriate checkbox.
  4. Click Import.
  5. Note: If you import a bundle containing an at-risk definition from a different Aspen database, references to fields in the indicators that are not applicable to the destination database will be cleared. Update the affected indicators to reference the appropriate fields; otherwise, the indicators will be ignored. These fields include assessment definitions, assessment definition columns, transcript definitions, transcript definition columns, and GPA definitions.
