Enter and manage student IEPs

In the Special Education view, enter IEPs for your special education students. The system automatically creates IEPs when you enroll or renew a student in the special education program.

To edit an IEPClosed for a student:

  1. Log on to the Special Education view.
  2. Click the IEP tab.
  3. To edit an existing IEP, click the IEP.

    Note: If your district uses IEP locking, in order to edit an IEP, you must first lock the IEP data. Do the following:

    1. Click the yellow Unlocked icon " ".
    2. When the green Locked icon appears " ", you can edit the IEP.
    3. If the red Locked by another user icon " " appears, someone else has locked the IEP data for editing, and you must wait until they are done before you can make your changes. If you have override privileges, you can override the lock. If you do so, the following warning appears.

    1. When your changes are complete, click Save, and then click Green locked icon to release the lock.
    2. If a lock is overriden by someone else, the following prompt appears when you attempt to save.

    Click the yellow Unlocked icon " " to reclaim the lock, re-enter your edits and save your changes; then click Locked icon to release the lock.

  4. IEPs have several pages. The number of pages depends on your district's or state’s requirements. Pages appear as sub-tabsClosed at the top of each page of the IEP. Click a sub-tab, such as Goals, to change to a different page.
  5. Note: You do not have to save every page. Just remember to click Save after you enter or edit information on the final sub-tab.

You either enter this information, such as goals and services, on the pages of the IEP or by click each side-tab. The side-tabs contain the data you enter on the IEP or related forms; they are simply another way to look at the same information.

Note:You can enter and view information for all students by category on the Global tab. For example, to view a list of all scheduled meetings, click the Global tab, then click the Meetings side-tab.

Most often, users enter the information on the IEP form and use the side-tabs to quickly view a piece of information.
